The 2017 Major League Baseball schedule was released in September and, at least at first glance, it appears to be a favorable schedule for the Yankees. The pinstripes open the season on Sunday, April 2 in Tampa Bay where they’ll stay for a three-game series. From there, the Yankees will travel to Baltimore for three games before embarking on a nine-game home stand against Tampa Bay, St. Louis, and the Chicago White Sox.

Grueling road trips are nonexistent in the first half of the season, but New York will endure three stretches of eight or more consecutive away games in the second half. The worst stretch of road games comes in the final month of the season when the Yankees play three in Baltimore, three in Texas, and then three in Tampa Bay. As is often the case, divisional play highlights September, as the Yankees are slated to play 23 of their final 29 games against division rivals. The team’s final game of the season is Sunday, October 1 at Yankee Stadium against the Toronto Blue Jays.
